Mold Remediation in Bullhead City, AZ

When you spot a bit of mold on an old piece of bread, you most likely snatch it up and toss it in the trash. It's a quick and easy way to prevent your family from getting sick. But what are you supposed to do about mold in other places of your home that you can't access? Mold has a sneaky way of growing in areas that you'd never expect. What if that heavy rainstorm last month caused a small leak in your attic that has spread to other areas and is causing mold to grow in your walls? What happens if your family is exposed to mold in your home? It doesn't take a graduate from the biggest university in Bullhead City, AZ to know that nothing good comes from breathing in mold spores.

Mold has been associated with a wide range of health issues and diseases, including allergies, Alzheimer's, and cancer. Mycotoxins produced by certain molds can seep into our bodies, causing mold toxicity that may result in long-term health problems. Under the right conditions, some mold strains can even complete their life cycle in as little as 48 hours.

A slow, unnoticed plumbing leak or water intrusion can rapidly develop into a significant mold issue, leading to property and infrastructure damage at best and health problems for people and pets at worst. Mold can remain hidden behind walls, in attics or crawlspaces, under floors, and beneath carpet. Just because you don't see mold doesn't mean it's not there. The question then becomes, if mold is in your home, what company should you call for mold remediation in Bullhead City, AZ?

Top Signs You Need Mold Remediation in Bullhead City, AZ

We've hammered home the point that mold can grow in your home unbeknownst to you, silently growing until it causes health problems. You might be asking yourself, "What are the signs I should look for to prevent mold from getting worse in my home?" Here are four of the biggest red flags that you need professional mold removal services.

Mold Remediation Bullhead City, AZ

1. Discoloration On Surfaces

Most molds cause the material they are consuming to change colors. Whether it's human food or drywall paper, if mold is allowed to grow for a sufficient amount of time, there will usually be a visible discoloration, indicating a problem. To that point, mold manifests in various colors, not just black. Many species can appear in gray, white, brown, red, and even pastel hues. Some molds look like dust or fuzz, while others resemble sand granules. Different molds thrive on different food sources, and they all require varying levels of moisture or relative humidity in the air.

2. You've Experienced Flooding or Another Water Event

Think about what it's like when you spill a glass of water on your kitchen counter. You can soak up most of the water, but it's almost impossible to prevent water from leaking into cracks and crevices. The same principle could be applied to your basement when a flood or other water event happens. We should note that water does not always lead to mold growth, as spores must already be present for that to happen. However, since mold spores are microscopic (2-10 microns), a water event typically triggers the visibility or detection of mold.

Water Damage Restoration Bullhead City, AZ

3. Adverse Health Symptoms

You don't need to be an employee at the department of health services in Bullhead City, AZ to know that unusual health symptoms after a water event may be caused by mold. If you have symptoms like coughing or a runny nose inside your home and those symptoms get better the moment you leave your property, mold growth may be the culprit.

Certified Mold Specialists Bullhead City, AZ

4. Something Smells Funny

Not all molds emit a musty or strong moldy smell, but many do. In fact, a strange odor might be the first sign that you need professional mold removal. The smell may not be persistent - it could come and go throughout the day. Mold flourishes in dim, damp areas such as attics, basements, bathrooms, and under sinks. If you detect an unpleasant, musty, or moldy odor, inspect these areas for mold.

At times, you might also notice a musty scent but are unable to locate any evidence of mold or the specific source of the odor. This could suggest that mold is growing behind a wall or in another area that is not easily accessible. If the musty smell appears to be stronger near wall outlets, this could indicate mold behind the wall, with the odor traveling through the openings in the outlet.

Do not disregard this odor. The longer you allow the mold to grow without intervention, the greater the cost of fixing it later and the greater the potential health issues you may face. If you suspect mold in your home, get in touch with a local mold removal company to have your home tested for mold.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BULLHEAD CITY, Arizona, Oct. 10, 2025 – City of Bullhead City staff, City contractors, and utility companies will be engaged in a series of maintenance and capital improvement projects during the week of Oct. 13.

Projects include:

• Bullhead City Street Maintenance crews will be working along Silver Creek Rd, east of Bullhead Parkway, as part of the 2025-2026 City Street Maintenance Program. More information on this program is available at bullheadcityaz.gov/csmp.

• Public Works crews will improve the fields and install a new playground at Bullhead City Middle School. Once completed, the facilities will serve as the school field and playground during school hours, and function as a City park outside of school hours. This project will provide enhanced facilities for both students and local residents.

• Parks Maintenance staff are currently reseeding the City’s sports fields with winter grass. The North soccer fields at Rotary Park have already been completed, while work on the East and West soccer fields and the softball fields at Rotary Park is underway.

• Contractors working on behalf of Bullhead City Utilities will complete various asphalt and concrete repairs throughout the City in areas where recent water line repairs have been made.

• Precise Builders is remodeling the former Mohave Valley Daily News building into the new Bullhead Animal Resource Center. The facility, which will feature expanded capacity, a veterinary clinic, a dog washing station, a pet crematorium, and more, is expected to open this coming winter.

• Under contract with Bullhead City Utilities, Kay Constructors LLC is building new headworks and an aeration basin at the Section 10 wastewater treatment plant. These upgrades will enhance the City’s water reclamation ability and safeguard the facility’s infrastructure from damage due to foreign materials.

• Bullhead City Utilities will be installing new fire hydrants and smart “iHydrants” at various locations. These installations may require planned outages of a few hours in affected areas, as the City replaces its oldest and least functional hydrants with technology that can monitor water infrastructure and support faster responses to system leaks.

• Kay Constructors, on behalf of Bullhead City, is installing well 20-1 on the northern side of Riverview Drive between Highway 95 and Lakeside Drive. Following pressure testing, Riverview Drive and Kaibab Drive will be repaved. In the meantime, Riverview Drive will remain open with metal plates covering the trench until the repaving begins.

• Public Works crews are preparing a new Dog Beach at Rotary Park, with updated operating hours set to go into effect in October. The City reminds residents to only flush human waste, toilet paper, and grey water down drains to avoid damaging the infrastructure.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution while traveling through City work zones and to obey posted signage and traffic control devices. Residents are encouraged to report issues directly via the Bullhead City Direct app, available for Android and iOS devices, at bullheadcity.com/BullheadCityDirect.

For additional information about these ongoing projects, please contact City Public Information.

BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. — Two homes in the North Mohave Valley Public Water System have tested above the EPA action level for lead, according to Bullhead City officials.

The city's utilities department was conducting routine testing when the lead was detected.

City officials say they are working to assess the extent of lead exposure in the North Mohave Valley Public Water System. State agencies have confirmed that the City is not in violation of any state or federal drinking water standards or regulations.

Over the next year, the city will test source water and conduct additional sampling of homes in the service area in an effort to determine whether additional steps need to be taken to reduce lead exposure.

“At the time our water systems were built, other materials, including PVC, asbestos cement, and ductile iron, had already replaced lead pipe as the preferred material for water service lines,” said Bullhead City Utilities Mark Clark. “It’s highly unlikely that there is any lead pipe in our system.”

Customers are encouraged to flush the plumbing systems before using tap water for drinking or cooking. Flushing can be accomplished by running faucets, taking a shower, or running a load of dishes or laundry.
