BULLHEAD CITY, AZ., February 14, 2025 – The City of Bullhead City staff and contractors will be engaging in several maintenance and capital improvement projects across the city during the week of February 17:
– The City Street Maintenance Crews will apply a slurry seal treatment to various streets in the Palo Verde Meadows Neighborhood as part of the City Street Maintenance Program (CSMP 2024-2025). Streets will be closed for a few hours each day while the slurry is applied and cures, approximately from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The CSMP aims to treat at least 20% of the city’s roadways each year. – Construction crews will work on the northwest corner of Ramar Rd and Highway 95 starting at 4:00 a.m. on Monday, February 17, lasting for several hours. Access to the westbound lane of Ramar Rd from Highway 95 will be blocked until completion.
– Perco Rock will continue installing three right-hand turn lanes along Southbound Highway 95 at Central Ave, Rising Sun Rd, and Sterling Rd. Heavy equipment and dirt movement may be visible along the road shoulder.
– Various areas of the Optimum Community Center remain closed for remodeling. Future improvements include an outdoor and indoor pickleball court and new event spaces. The gymnasium, parking lot, Recreation Division offices, and others have recently reopened.

– Ervin Cable Construction (ECC) will be installing fiber conduit along the southbound shoulder of Highway 95 from East Shore Villas to Baseline Rd on behalf of TWN Communications. The work is not expected to impact highway traffic.
– Various areas of the Optimum Community Center remain closed while the City continues to remodel the facility. Future improvements that will soon open to the public include an outdoor and indoor pickleball court and new multi-purpose event and activity spaces. The projects will improve the city’s capacity to reclaim water and protect the facility’s infrastructure from damage caused by foreign materials in the system.
– A contractor working for Bullhead City Utilities will be cleaning the sewer line along Lakeside Dr from Coral Reef Dr to Chaparral Dr. The work will occur daily between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., progressing from manhole to manhole and closing one lane of traffic where the manholes are located.
The City reminds the public to only flush human waste, toilet paper, and grey water down the drain. – The City Slurry program will pause for the week of December 26. – City Street Maintenance Crews will be sweeping various streets throughout the city in preparation for the CSMP schedule. – McCormick Construction has paused construction of a raised median with street lights along the Bullhead Parkway between Silvercreek Rd and Laredo Dr. This project will resume after the holidays. – Perco Rock Company, on behalf of the City of Bullhead City, will be preparing for improvements to the intersection of Highway 95 and Merrill Ave. Residents can anticipate seeing heavy equipment along the roadside and some dirt movement in the area. – The Optimum Community Center is currently closed due to ongoing construction. An expanded parking lot with approximately 400 additional stalls has recently been completed. The Community Center is expected to reopen in January. – T.R. Orr Inc. will continue the expansion of the Bullhead Senior Enrichment Center. The expansion will add 9,000 square feet, including 7,700 square feet of indoor activity and meeting space and 1,300 square feet of covered outdoor patio space. Construction is expected to conclude by the end of January 2025. – A contractor will be rehabilitating the 18-1 lift station, located just southeast of the intersection of Highway 95 and Laughlin Ranch Blvd. Work includes installing Predl paneling to protect the well from corrosion and other enhancements to extend the system’s lifespan. 18-1 is the third of three lift stations to receive this rehabilitation. – Contractors working on behalf of Bullhead City Utilities will complete asphalt and concrete repairs around the city, where recent water line repairs were made. – McCormick Construction, under contract with the City of Bullhead City, is constructing a new ATV/UTV parking lot to serve as a trailhead for the Arizona Peace Trail, located just southeast of the intersection of Bullhead Parkway and Silver Creek Rd. – Precise Builders is remodeling the former Mohave Valley Daily News building into the new Bullhead Animal Resource Center. The new facility will feature expanded capacity, a veterinary clinic, a dog washing station, a pet crematorium, and more, with an expected opening in summer 2025. – City Street Maintenance Crews will crack-seal North Oatman Rd from Arcadia Way to Bullhead Parkway in preparation for slurry treatment. – Kay Constructors LLC, under contract with Bullhead City Utilities, is building a new headworks and aeration basin at the Section 10 wastewater treatment plant. These projects will enhance the city’s capacity to reclaim water and protect the facility’s infrastructure from damage caused by foreign materials in the system. – A contractor working for Bullhead City Utilities will clean the sewer line along Lakeside Dr from Coral Reef Dr to Chapparral Dr. The work will occur daily between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., progressing from manhole to manhole and closing one lane of traffic where the manholes are situated.
Residents are reminded to only flush human waste, toilet paper, and grey water. All other waste products should be disposed of properly to prevent damage to the city’s infrastructure. Please exercise caution while traveling through city work zones and obey posted signage and traffic control devices.
